Not much of a plan for the non Ranger teams. Trouba might waive for Wings, but Wings aren't giving much return. Wings would prefer to keep the pick and spend 8m elsewhere.

Let’s pretend trouba would waive. He wouldn’t, but lets pretend.

Rangers are giving up first round picks to be rid of him, not getting them in return. Probably more than one as well.

Wrong. Trouba’s play has elevated immensely this season and he’s molded into one of the best shutdown defensemen in the league this season. Big contracts don’t get offloaded like that if the player is good and that’s the case here. So no, the Rangers won’t have to give away anything to trade Trouba.

Right. Pretty much universally accepted notion. His contract stinks. The player doesn’t warrant it. Big time negative value.

Maybe he didn’t warrant it in his first season with the Rangers and last season was iffy, but this season he’s totally played up to that contract. I watch him regularly enough to confirm his merit. And since right handed shutdown defensemen don’t grow on trees, any argument of “negative value” is unwarranted.

Warranted, and near universally accepted. But sure, everyone is wrong and you’re right and your favorite team is perfect!

It’s “universally accepted” that Chris Kreider is in the same boat and yet he’s on pace for 56 goals. So clearly the “universally accepted” culture has no perception of how hockey works.

No one was ever worried about Kreider in the immediate. Naturally, people are concerned about an a highly paid power forward in his late 30s.

Doesn’t matter. I don’t take what’s “universally accepted” seriously because those people end up being wrong 99% of the time. On top of that, I personally have seen those same people say the same **** about even some of the best players in the league who’ve actually earned their contracts. In actuality, the only time I’ve even seen huge contracts get sold like that is when it’s been overpaid players who’ve either gotten demoted to the AHL or are playing 4th line roles/3rd defensive pairing roles at best.

Except the fact that his wife is a physican resident in NYC and he would not waive his NMC. So this is completely pointless.

These Trouba to Detroit trades need to stop especially with a first rounder coming from Detroit. Doesn’t make any sense. First, Trouba has a NMC for a reason. Second, he isn’t a need for Detroit with our current RHD which has been stated numerous times. You want to attach assets to Trouba we can talk otherwise kick rocks.

I feel there are only 3 possible destinations Trouba might waive for. Detroit, Florida and Tampa Bay. Only way he waives is if his fiancé finishes her internship. Say he does waive for Detroit, Detroit will not pay anything for him, especially a first round pick. He may be playing good but that doesn't mean he's needed in Detroit. So in order for Detroit to trade for him its going to have be to worth our while. Not necessarily giving up first round picks but maybe send something to sweeten the deal.

Take a deep breath people... AFTER NTC 24 season, is when Trouba @1/2, 2x4m is traded for a 2nd+
