Trade value is too low for Laine, and there is no way CBJ deals him to Pittsburgh if there is a chance he’ll extend there.

I’m not sure Florida is the right place for Malkin. If he’s dealt out at the deadline I would expect CBJ to be in on those talks, but not sure if PIT would trade him within the division, even as a rental.

Honestly like a lot of these moves. Never thought of Laine joinining the team, but I feel like he would help a ton on the powerplay and in other areas. The Jarry Fleury tandem would also be insane, and I think having Fleury back him up could take Jarry to the next level. Also got more toughness on the team, which is good. Definitely think this would be a cup contender and keep the window open.

No, we STILL do not want Petterson. Especially not as the centerpiece for a Laine trade. We have more than enough LHD. Barring a "disastrous injuries on the way to a Cup run" scenario, there will be no point during the entirety of Petterson's contract when we want him. Stop trying.

Yes but FA’s always get over paid

They just have to survive for a year or two and then it’s over anyways

    Huh

Trading for Laine and then signing him to a $64 million contract????????
Signing Rust to an 8 year contract????????
    Signing Ben f*cking Chiarot????????????????
A 3 year contract for Deslauriers????????????

This is indefensible. Not even Rutherford would have pulled crap like this

Yeah totally. Take a team out of a market that the fans have supported through about 15 losing season out of 20. Not like Pittsburgh, that can’t support a team unless they luck into a generational talent. Check out the pre Mario years, or the ones between Mario and Crosby. As soon as Crosby leaves the fans will disappear again, then maybe you’ll have a good candidate to move to Quebec.

    1. Yes that’s a great move
    2. Yeah again, great move. You get him cheaper with term. He can play his whole career in Pitt. Great player and teammate.
    3. Yes Ben Is a prime example of a player the Penguins are missing.
    4. Deslauriers is a rare breed and would be a welcomed addition.

You have no idea what you’re talking about

Why would the Panthers need Malkin? And how would they fit him under the cap?
