I still think it makes sense to keep Strome and his chemistry with Panarin. Why not get a shutdown 3C instead to play the tough defensive matchups and win faceoffs instead of trying to acquire a top 6 center that’ll likely cost a ton to trade for or a lot of money.

HOWEVER, that doesnt mean that other teams wont try to poach him and send out an offer sheet knowing how tight the Rangers are against the cap. Thats why he will get more.

At the end of the day Horvat is younger and a better all around player. In an ideal universe we can get Horvat and resign Strome to play RW.

Also, theres no way the Rangers can afford to get Horvat, Copp and Pavelski. They can really only afford 1 signing, maybe.
