Description
This is just to strike up a conversation and see if this could actually be a potential base for a trade in the future. Both teams are at least battling for a playoff spot rn and you could argue both these players could have better base numbers.


Plus, they both have 1 year left on their deals so their future is far from certain with their respective teams

I think this makes a ton of sense from Minnesota's perspective at the very least, this move should improve the team and can help create room for a Matthew Boldy call up that so many fans are demanding. And as a bonus, without having to resign Fiala, the team could potentially (make another move later and) be able to keep him around if they'd like.

I'm guessing Minnesota adds but that's not the point of this post although I'm obviously very curious about value.

I want to see if this would work from the Sharks perspective. Ie: would they have interest in acquiring Fiala in a trade like this?

Sharks want a first and center or RD prospect if they trade Hertl, I doubt they would want to do this especially not 1 for 1.

Yeah, I figured it might get shutdown but I was still curious as to whether or not they'd change their minds about what they'd like in return for Hertl if he were to get moved. Ie: was there potential for talks to fall through to Hertl but the team still wanted to compete.

I never believed this would be a 1-for-1 deal. This post was more so about interest instead of value cause I didn't want to add futures from Minnesota just to have both sides upset about who's adding what. So instead I just wanted to see if this could work as a trade base more than anything

I don’t think it’s bad value, I think the sharks would want something added though. If they were trying to stay competitive while moving Hertl they would have to have a C coming the other way. No way we are competitive with a second line with Bonino as the center

That was all I was looking for, thank you. I wasn't sure if the team starting off strong in the first 10 games and being in a weaker division had changed their desires for what they wanted in a package for Hertl

I 100% agree with the first part. I was just unsure of the fit or if Dahlen could take taht spot or not as he was introduced to me as center prospect back when he was still in the Canucks' organization and is listed as center by the NHL

He hasn’t played center yet and not sure if he will; dont know if the sharks want him to in the future or not. He’s been on a line with Couture and Meier and they have really great chemistry up until Dahlen injured his shoulder. I don’t want them to break that line up unless they have to.

We dont have the cap room, and the sharks are on the downswing. If we lose Hertl, we need someone whos a top six player in the future on an ELC, not an under performing winger whos deal expires before we are good.
