A lot of Lucic deals here lately, that's not the money the Flames are going to move out, it will be Monahan before they ask Lucic to waive his NMC again. The deal above wouldn't be worth getting Tofolli, the Flames year on year off competitiveness should be enough to encourage them to hold onto picks.

Not much appreciation of other teams cap in those multi players trades. Really overvaluing the aging overpaid Hab players.

Montreal took more cap back from every team except the New York trade, because they Cap Space to play with.

Would like your opinion on which overpaid aging players those are. I retained 50% on Gallagher, Chiarot and Petry, bringing their Cap Hit far lower than their value.

As you can see in the comments, I "like" comments if people are just not interested. But you seem to have just decided to crap on the moves without even looking at them for 30 seconds.

If you are upset about the Leafs trade, these are my thoughts on it:

Kerfoot > Armia. Armia is slightly cheaper, and a proven playoff performer, sound defensively and plays wing. Big body that Leafs could use. Kerfoot does not real have a place on the Leafs at center, and makes too much according to your own fanbase.

Lehkonen >> Ritchie. Again, cheaper, proven playoff performer, and defensively sound. Type of player Leafs lack.

Petry >>> Holl, 50% retention and top 2 defenseman on most teams.

Allen > Mrazek, cheaper and less injury prone.

Picks, you have to add for cap retention and Habs taking bad contracts. Leafs can a few picks back, as Leafs havent had many picks in recent years.

If you are interested in Chiarot or Gallagher (at 50% retained), what would be your counter? There is a bit of play with Chiarot, but Gallagher is gonna cost a bit. I thought Holloway was dealing with injuries and is a bit of an unknown, and Broberg has struggled. I didn't include players/prospects i thought would be untouchables. Was just trying to make Cup run moves for Oilers.

That's fair, but i don't think management would seriously consider Year On and Year Off trends when making trades. They should be trying to break the trend, not accept next year might be crap.

Holloway they pretty much had him penciled to be on the team at some point this year and still might yes he is injured but they think he is ready to contribute soon.
Broberg had 10A in 13 games in the A so thats not a struggle and has actually done pretty well in his first few NHL games considering he is now Essentially their #1 LHD due to injury he is playing well above his head and doing an admirable job of it. Ideally nurse and Keith are still in and he plays 3LD to start but hey sometimes your hand is forced. You can see with his skill he will be on the oilers blueline for some time.

1st and second sure would be part of that trade Then the oilers would be looking at a Lavoie and samorukov area

You have to be kidding.

No team even Montreal wants Gallagher long term
Lucic doesn't waive for Montreal.
Anderson doesn't look like long term value. Flyers keep JVR and York.
Kerfoot is fine at centre and LW. Gee, Kerfoot was the Leafs 2nd playoff performer last year. Though I had certainly don't like Ritchie and his 2.4m X 2 contract. Armia at 3.4 X 4 is no bargain now with his four points in 21 games. He's a third liner winger at best.
Petry at age 33 might hit the wall with his 2 points in 21 games. Nah, Leafs keep their players and certainly won't be trading three high picks for that groups of Habs.
