No he didn’t.
There aren’t many players in this league that fetch a 1st and 2nd round pick.
Then your low value pieces are a young d man that just bullied his way into a very deep d group in boston, and is playing awesome, and debrusk, who had a really rough year last year but has a good goal scorers resume and is still 25 (and is playing pretty well this year).
I just can’t really understand what you’re talking about.
Jake debrusk has 8 goals in his last 57 regular season games. That’s an 11.5 goal pace of 82, pretty good 4th liner/fringe 3rd liner production. He is an RFA after this season with a 4.85 million dollar qualifying offer. He’s a liability, not an asset.
Zboril is a 24 year old (turning 25) dman with 50 NHL games of experience. His good numbers in 6 games this year do not erase the 42 games last year where he was a replacement level player.
At best, these two players are projects with some upside. At worst, it’s a 4.85 million dollar 4th liner and a 7th d-man. Reality is debrusk is probably a decent third line tertiary scorer. Zboril probably a okay 3rd pairing guy. Either way, these two players do NOTHING to move the needle on a JT miller trade. Canucks could and should shoot for more.
Miller is nearly a point per game player, first line winger with good face off ability. Has the best PK impacts on the Canucks (to be fair not saying much) and generates the most offense and on ice xG on the team. When a player like Jason Zucker gets traded for a 1st, a top prospect on Calen Addison, and a roster player like galchenyuk (similar value to debrusk) it’s impossible to argue Miller isn’t worth more.
But I guess I should expect this type of argument from the guy who thinks Quinn Hughes is a 3rd pairing defenseman
