The problem with this is you’re selling high on your 1st, without looking at the ramifications acquiring Theodore has to the islanders. This likely pushes the isles into playoff contention, devaluing the main piece of the trade

Vegas has other parts to move first in smith and dadanov before they move Theodore.

Mcnabb would be more realistic target.

Why do folks think Vegas needs cap space and need jettison a good player when Eichel comes back in March. It's not like his full cap hit of 10m is going to used by Vegas. Nor when Stone's 9m as he has been LTIRed too.

they have mcnabb, smith, dadonov they could use to free camp so acquiring a young player with a decent cap won't be an issue

i highly doubt theodore turns the team around the offence even at full health can't score. they would have to go on a massive win streak at the end of the year once everyones back to full health but even then the metro is so competitive this year i think carolina and washington are locks then the next 2 spots are between philly NYR columbus

why would it only be 3.5 mill? even then though they are still slightly over by like 3-4 mill, buffalo didn't retain so vegas would be taking on the full cap hit towards their salary even if they are only paying him a certain amount

Well first, Eichel was on a Sabre for the 6 weeks of the season. Eichel is on LTIR, so the Vegas in effect his cap isn't in effect till he rejoins the team. So Eichel's cap hit for two months is about 3.5m
