Quoting: blanche
I have Byfield, Kumpari and Villardi projected ahead of Turcotte followed by Anderson-Dolan and Thomas given the fact that Kings currently Danault(5yrs) and Kopitar(3yrs and won't be trade). They can't all play. From MTL standpoint we are picking up Turcotte with whom Caufield has played with the past 4yrs at college, under 18 national development and world juniors.
LA has many good options at center, if the offer isn't good enough then let's work on it.
If LA is going to trade Turcotte, they're going to want an equally good player who is just as young and just as close to making the NHL. They're not going to want to get substantially older, they're not going to want to downgrade their prospect, and they're not going to want an asset that is several years away from making an impact.
Due to positional needs, they're not going to want another center. They're also not going to want a RHD, as they are equally logjammed at that position. Goalie prospects are too hard to evaluate, so they're not going to want to move Turcotte unless it's for a top tier guy like Knight, Wallstedt, or Cossa. That leaves winger and LHD as positions of need.
Romanov is intriguing, but he's not at the same level as Turcotte. Montreal would need to add fairly substantially in that swap, and as I said before, LA isn't looking to downgrade their prospect. The only other guy that fits (and the likely target for the Kings) is Cole Caufield. I think the Kings would consider a Turcotte for Caufield swap, but I don't think Montreal goes for it.
