Quoting: PreemoForGM
The hawks will never be able to fully tank with guys like Kane, Toews, Fleury, and future hall of famers around. The hawks have officially run out of the “maybe next season”. This is an unfixable team with a very weak pipeline. It’ll be awhile (miracles excluded). Until hawks are a “real” contender.
I will say this.
If Kane wanted a trade out of Chicago, he would have asked for one around the same time that Duncan Keith asked for one as well.
He would have given the Hawks an informal list of teams for which he would waive his NMC.
And he would make up an excuse like Duncan Keith did that was not related to the investigation by Jenner & Block.
He chose to do none of those things.
It leads me to believe he'll just let his contract run its course and then retire as Chicago Blackhawk.
Carolina declines because they don't have the cap space and Seth Jarvis is a blue-chip prospect that is ready to play in Carolina's Top 6.
And his ELC runs until 2024.
Jarvis is pretty much untouchable.
