Every single trade has been a win or a push, except the Regula trade, but even he hasn't made an impact in the NHL, so even that one might be a push...

the ned and mantha trades are his two biggest wins imo.

None are losses. Some have had no impact and but some have been crazy successful. (Ned and Mantha)

I'm just gonna do a full count for myself, W-L-T. Also not gonna have Wood for Kaski or Timashov for Future Considerations in the count, as they didn't really have an affect on either team and pretty much only serve to muddy up the numbers.

No losses I can find. Closest ones are possibly Comrie for Saarijarvi or Perlini for Regula, but I'd have to see the prospects actually pan out before I declare a winner on either. Even then, those are quite minor.

It’s Stevie Y, can hate the Wings all anyone wants but Yzerman does NOT take L’s often.

The guy has a big draft/ year coming up and then we should expect the Wings to start being real players in the East.

That Fabbri trade was a fleecing too... A 4th liner, that we got off of waivers, for a guy that has become a legit top 6 scorer... Pretty huge win...

Yeah, paying that much for him just to play him in the bottom 6 and let him go for nothing in free agency was just a disgrace. Only thirteen games as an Oiler including playoffs. The Wings came out big on that one, we got more service out of the cap casualty, Gagner, than Edmonton got out of the centerpiece, Athanasiou.

Mantha trade was win win for both teams. DET got a great young player and Caps got a player that fits their style a bit more and some cap space.

I also view that trade as a push.

The only one remotely close to a loss right now is Regula, but it's still undetermined. So, in general, Steve either ties, wins, or wins big.

Start from the bottom and work up
17 - I say win as I think his value to the team has been great and he might be worth a bit more than a fourth now
16 - win as getting even a fringe NHL guy for a guy who will never play in the league is a win
15 - Push, regula hasn't done much in the AHL. Perlini didn't really do anything either.
14-big win, waiver claim to acquire nhl forward
13-push, 3 games that didn't amount to much for a guy not going to make it, no one wins
12-push, but kaski putting up decent numbers in the KHL
11-considering green didn't do much in Edmonton, win for getting something for him
10-big win
9-win
8-push? They got an AHL guy for free that's fine
7-win? Got something for an UFA
6-win
5-win
4- I think this is a win too for Detroit, but both teams got what they wanted
3- I'll say this is a win too, we needed LD, plus got rid of a guy for one of our multiple second rounders. But a bigger win if he signs or gets flipped for more.

The Nick Leddy trade was a loss. He’s not great defensively at all and haven’t been for the last couple of years. For one more year at 5.5 and an actual higher salary for essentially Aatu Räty in Red Wings position was objectively not great. Pánik’s also very serviceable in a bottom-6 for 1.375 mil.
