Don't think Isles do it. Cheaper alternatives out there

Isles say yes but idk if the avs do, beau along with the team has been struggling so he's at the lowest his value will be. avs would prolly want more unless he gets going again but I don't see that happening bc we suck rn

I kinda dig it in terms of player level, but Girard's term is so much better.

i think this makes a lot of sense as far as what the framework would be, i just don't think the islanders are in a position to give up young, skilled forwards at this point

On the surface, the trade looks pretty fair. However, Colorado's defense looks way worse without Girard, and they end up letting Burakovsky and Nichushkin just walk here. This doesn't seem to be the best approach to the off season (imo). It's like picking fruit from the top of the tree when the low hangers taste just as good and are easier to get.

I agree that letting Burakovsky and Nuke walk is a mistake but I disagree about their defense being weak, especially when you factor in how poor Girard played last post-season and their lack abundance for offensive dmen. Maybe don't sign Rakell to play a 3rd line shutdown roll, and don't overpay Edler either. To me this seems like a move that really benefits both sides.

This is a tough one because the Avs need secondary scoring and Beauvillier is a strong two-way guy. But Girard's term is a lot better so maybe the Isles would need to add a little. Hypothetically, they could plug Barron into the D corps so there is at least that option. Some of the other deals - Schultz, Edler, Rackell - are wasteful. Better off finding a way to keeping Nuke and Bura. So I guess I like the trade but am not a fan of most of the signings.

He had a rough series against Vegas, but he was hardly the only one. One series doesn't define the guy. He's a great player and very valuable to Colorado. I do understand you need to give to get, and I'm a big fan of Beauvillier, but I really think the Avs would be shooting themselves in the foot to do this before Barron is ready to go. That said, I can absolutely see how some may disagree with me here. It's not an easy no for me. I do think I'm a no though.

I see your POV but I just think Byram makes him way more expendable. Adding a player like Beauvillier wpulx really round out the top 6 who has seemed to lack depth at points
