Hrmm, maybe. I'd prefer one of either Jost or Ranta back. But that's just me. I don't particularly know to much about Bowers tbh.
Avs fan here. In my opinion, Kaut > Bowers. I’m not sure why, but Colorado hasn’t given Bowers any opportunity in the NHL yet. He’s looked more polished than Kaut in the AHL and in preseason, but he may be getting to that point where he’s stuck as an AHL-er instead of a legit prospect. At best, I think he becomes a bottom six forward who can skate and maybe PK, like
@jnowariak said.
I think Kaut still has middle six upside. Unfortunately he’s dealt with some injuries the last couple years, but his AHL production has improved each season and he was getting some PP times with the Avs before his most recent injury.
I think Greenway would be a great fit with the Avs, especially considering he’s an RFA at the end of the season and Colorado has several middle-six forwards set to hit UFA. I also think Kaut vwould fit Minnesota’s style nicely, as jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none type of player.
I would question whether these division rivals would want to make a deal with each other, though. I think the intra-division trade stigma can be overblown. But when it comes to two contending teams swapping younger players with long-term value, I wonder if there’s extra hesitation. I also question if Minnesota would prefer to package Greenway for a more impactful piece, rather than trading him for a younger player.
