If Miller or Horvat are traded, Vancouver would want to clear cap space and get a a close to NHL ready prospect , preferably at RD

Ok so it would have to be Addison. With our own cap space issues I don't think we can afford to trade him

Rask + Addison + Greenway + 1st for Horvat. Is that too much or too little?

He's definitely the closest to being there but I agree with you, trading him wouldn't be the best.

Too bad Vancouver doesn't need LDs because with O'Rourke, Hunt, Lambos, and Peart (although I'm sure Peart is untouchable), I could see a trade being made

Why would Peart be the untouchable one on that list?

I think that's probably about right. Rask provides no value to them but makes the cap work. Greenway Addison and a pick feels like Horvat level value. I think it might be a third rather than a first though

I wouldn't trade O'Rourke or Lambos unless I got more back either but I believe (might have to double check) that Peart won ROTY in the USHL and the Mr. Hockey Award from Minnesota State no less

Those are meaningless awards. The last Mr. Hockey winner to actually become a GOOD NHL player was Nick Leddy from 2009. Peart is just another prospect.

USHL ROTY: Svechnikov, Gaudreau, Lee, Pacioretty, Guentzel. Noticed you left that out.

I didn't leave that out on purpose, I just didn't care to look it up because it's not a good way to evaluate prospects. I know the Mr Hockey award doesn't matter, which is why I brought that one up. But since you're making a big fuss about it, other USHL Rookies of the Year you didn't include in your list are Matej Pekar, Cameron Morrison, Kieffer Bellows, Robby Jackson, Taylor Cammarata, Louis Leblanc and Jack Connolly. So it seems like you picked out the five or so that actually did become something in the 24 years they've been giving out the award.

Tl;dr: These awards are not how you evaluate prospects or their value because they indicate nothing about the future success of the prospect.

Peart also didn't win the USHL ROTY.

2007 - 2017 5/10 have become NHL fixtures. 2018-2021 haven't played in the NHL much or at all. Sillinger has a little and looks great.

Don't skew stats to prove a point. Shows that scouting has improved a lot.

Anyways, fact of the matter is you got a local kid who has accolades for his age.

Okay well Peart didn't win the award you're talking about so I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here.

Like I've said if the Canucks trade Miller/Horvat they're gonna want a top center or RD prospect as part of the package as well as picks ideally for the 2022 draft

There are a couple articles that say he did but maybe I am wrong. My apologies if I am. But don't discredit accolades and skew stats for your benefit in the future, okay?

I'm going to continue to not care about high school hockey accolades because they don't mean anything when it comes to NHL success, okay?

Oh just read he was the co-recipient of the award. Makes more sense.

But hey, as long as you learned something today, that's all that matters smile

Yeah that's what I'm hearing from others as well. So for us that would have to be Addison, but I can't see GMBG trading him unless they plan to stick with Dumba. I don't think we'll be able to make a trade with Vancouver.

That would be if we had a competent GM and ownership that wasn't still trying to go for it.

If the Canucks made like 2-4 strategic trades to get prospects and picks, they could actually be decent in a 2 yrs. But ya we are gonna need a new GM to sort that out.

Addison isn't really the type of RD the Canucks would be interested in anyways. They'd be looking for someone who could eventually play with Hughes

I'm still holding out hope that Benning's gonna be canned. Sounds like they've talked to Mike Forde which could be promising

Wow just looked up Forde. That would be the totally opposite direction to what Benning brings. Im intrigued. Something will happen soon this team is bad.
