Montreal pick finishes in the top 10, which means that Montreal gets it and Arizona gets the Carolina pick

Détails additionnels:
Rumored trade on 32 thoughts podcast. I think this is terrible for Edmonton but I hope that it's true.

LAK
  1. Allen, Jake
  2. Petry, Jeff
Détails additionnels:
I don't see Petry as having much value right now but LA could use a solid top 4 D man right now. The goalie swap is partly so cap works but also, Allen is a big upgrade on Quick. This might be a little high for both these guys. I could see 2 2nds instead of a 1st and 2nd. Because of that ill make the first top 10 protected.

  2. Choix de 3e ronde en 2023 (DET)
DET
  1. Savard, David
Détails additionnels:
the only reason this trade is with detroit is because of the leddy trade last summer. Savard is an ok d man but his contract might be a little of a deterant. Last year he was worth a 1st and 3rd when he was retained so I think its fair to assume he's worth 2 3rds based on his current contract.

WSH
  1. Hoffman, Mike
  2. Choix de 3e ronde en 2022 (DET)
Détails additionnels:
Hoffman is a goal-scorer who just signed a new contract this summer. Based on the contract I think its fair to assume he's worth an early 2nd/late 1st. I see Washington as a good fit as they are playing well this year and are going for the cup. The 3rd is added to balance out the value since Hoffman for a first is a little montreal sided I feel.

  5. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (VAN)
VAN
  1. Toffoli, Tyler
Détails additionnels:
Benning is dumb. He probably still sees Vancouver as a possible playoff team. Toffoli played well in Vancouver and I think they woud like to have him back. The return is a 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd becuase I think that Toffoli's value is similar to Hoffman's and that dumping Myers also costs Vancouver 2nds+.

  2. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (OTT)
OTT
  1. Anderson, Josh
Détails additionnels:
Anderson is similar to Hoffman and Toffoli, but his contract lowers his value a little which is why a 2nd and a 3rd is fair. Ottawa is coming put of the rebuild and I see Anderson as a good fit to play with Tkchuck. That duo would be scary.

imagine if montreal drafted brady...

  2. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (NYI)
NYI
  1. Edmundson, Joel
  2. Paquette, Cédric
Détails additionnels:
The Islanders are not afraid to pay at the decline (Pageau). Edmundson would make that blueline so much better and paquette is a good depth piece for the playoffs. Considering this would be a dealine move I could see two seconds, especially if one of them is Colorado's

Detroit is all set down the right side of their D. With Sider, Hronek and Lindstrom and it's why Stecher has been a healthy scratch so often this season.

i would remove a second and ask for bellows
anderson value is fair but that contract (maybe we retain 1m)
hoffman value i think is good but why haglin? get another pick or give hoffman up for a second and prosppect
savard is not returning 2x3rd's
cant see Edmonton doing that, i would offer2 of legasson/lavoie/benson +3rd that way we get prospects and a pic

Agreed, I don't think Savard is a fit in Detroit. He would be third pairing or healthy scratch and that's just too much money to pay a guy for that spot. Two thirds is probably a fair price for him though. If he was a LD the story would be different here.

Los Angeles is short RD this year and I think there are a couple other teams that could use help there. Maybe Vancouver as well. Might be a part of your Toffoli trade somehow.

If Holland trades a first for Chiarot there should be riots in the streets of Edmonton. Woof.

Los Angeles is short a RHD for a few more weeks. Doughty is reportedly going to resume skating in a no-contact jersey this week. Kale Clague has also stepped up and has looked very good at RHD. He should be able to fill in for Walker until the end of the season.

The way Quick is playing right now, I wouldn't trade him 1-for-1 for Jeff Petry. Allen is definitely not a "big upgrade." I'd put money down that Quick will be a goaltender (if not THE goaltender) for the USA Olympic Team in February.

Caps don't have the space for Hoffman, and would be a waste to have him there anyway, as the max he could do is play on the 3rd line. Certainly not worth giving up a 1st rounder for.

Agreed - unless he replaces Mantha (assuming he is out for season) on the second line? That is the only way I could see him fitting for this season...but even that is a stretch

In what sense is Jake Allen "a big upgrade" on JQ except cap hit? Have you checked their stats lately? Quick lost the other night and it LOWERED his GAA (to almost a goal a game better than Allen) and RAISED his save percentage. I'm sure that's a least partially due to the way the two teams have been playing, but we wouldn't exchange one for the other unless we were getting substantially more.
