And it really has nothing to do with Barrie's overall skills, it's just that they're extremely limited. He's a great guy to put out on PP1 and for some Ozone starts, but that role is already filled in Chicago.

I get it, but I think he's being underrated by people underestimating his impact. His actual and expected goals% are both great, so are his possession numbers, he's produced well both at even strength and on the power play, and there's nothing to suggest his defensive impacts deviate that much from the average. He doesn't get enough credit for what he does, and I figured that out when he led all defensemen in points last season and didn't get a single Norris vote. Everybody says "he's terrible defensively" but I have yet to find evidence that he actually is, and until I do I can only see it as a cop-out answer.

That trade is a massive overpay. PIT is shipping out Jary in order to make room for a Gibson, Fleury, Etc. type of goaltender. Should be very interesting to see what they do. This trade if it were Mikko and a 4th/3rd for Jarry, would make sense, but no first or Skinner. Although I guess the overpay is more than likely given their current GM
