You do realize "untouchable" isn't such a literal term, right? It just means the team values their asset highly and they aren't going to give it away without a massive overpayment because of how integral they are to the team. If it illustrates how highly we value Larkin, I'm not even sure that I would accept that Matthews deal. Call me crazy all you like, but there are certain pieces that teams covet much more than rest. For Detroit, those pieces we value above all else would be Larkin, Raymond, and Seider. You can make offers for them, but you'd have to pay much, much more than most people would be willing to.

I don't think that the Kings are ready to give up on Gabe Vilardi yet, just because they sent him down to Ontario to get more playing time, just as I don't see Anaheim willing to give up on Max Comtois just yet (contrary to popular opinion, he hasn't been a healthy scratch lately but an injury scratch).

Kane Trade: I don’t want to go for him unless it’s is for very cheap. Would rather not give up a Lapierre or a McMichael for him, especially knowing now what happened in 2010 and that he reportedly did nothing.

Larkin Trade: I don’t think Either team accepts here. I don’t see why Detroit would trade their captain, who they put so much into, unless it is a vast overpayment. And I don’t see the capitals being willing to part with what Detroit want for him, when given the other recent Caps and Wings trade.

Kings trade: I can’t see the Kings giving up on Vilardi yet and if they do I don’t think they are looking for a 3rd line center, as they have other needs.
