Why would they trade a young player who is finally starting to develop for them, for a journeyman Vet goalie who isn’t even all that good???

I’ve seen some bad trades on here,
and this is right up there with the ones that just don’t make any sense whatsoever

The journeyman vet would be the best goalie the Sabres have had since *checks notes* Anders Nillson, arguably Ryan Miller

We’re REBUILDING right now
And rebuilding teams don’t trade away young talent for Vets,
especially average (at best) ones
It’s utterly ridiculous to even suggest

It would be like u guys trading Podkolzin for someone like Okposo
Just wouldn’t make ANY sense whatsoever

Podkolzin was a lottery pick who looks promising, Okposo is an overpaid plug

Thompson was a late 1st who has definitely not looked like a 1st round worthy player (before this season, hes been fine this year), Mrazek is a good goalie signed for the next couple years, but so good that he will singlehandedly ruin the rebuild

but Mrazek is every bit the plug that Okposo is
And he’s no better than a UFA goalie we could sign for free

It’s a really bad trade proposal, that makes ZERO sense

Okposo is a 4th liner making 6M
Mrazek is a great tandem goalie making under 4M

How are they similar in any way?

They’re both replaceable players where u can sign a free agent to do their job
Neither hold any trade value at all
If you’re gonna be stuck on this, then fine, that’s your opinion
I wouldn’t trade a 7th round pick for Mrazek
Giving up a young player who we’ve developed into being a productive piece for us is LAUGHABLE
