I like the sounds of Okhotiuk and Boqvist. We need better D men in the pipeline and I think Okhotiuk could be just the guy. We have really limited options behind Brown on the left and most of our prospect D are undersized skill guys.
Boqvist as a tweener sounds like an interesting guy. There's always players like that but sometimes a change of scenery can light the spark. We really need a C1/2 prospect out of this trade if we go C. So he could be that guy.
Personally I'd take either of these guys and a second for Fiala if he has the down year he's trending towards. If he comes back to scoring that would need to be a first. But I'm really good with these options. If you don't like the first, we could do Okhotiuk and Nate Schnarr.
I think you are dead on with Boqvist. He was completely misused when John Hynes was the coach (he had him as 4th line winger on checking/grinding line). Boqvist’s biggest asset was always his speed and his play on transition. With Hughes, Mercer, McLeod and Hischier, he is probably blocked in NJ for a while, so I have always felt he was good change-of-scenery candidate.
Okhotiuk (or “Okhotyuk” on this site) is a human missile. Not going to be a top-pair, power-play or all situations guy. But should have pretty high floor as he is reliable, physical d-man whose puck skills and offense have stepped up this year. Stick with Addison maybe. Could be good pair.
I love Fiala because of the chemistry he and Hischier found playing internationally for Switzerland. And I think you would be asking too little for one of these guys and a pick. Ask for BOTH of them and a pick.
