Well that oilers fan has no clue what he's talking about bc we have our scoring depth. We have a 2LD hole which pettersson would fill but Broberg is not going anywhere except maybe ANA for gibson

Oilers trade is absolutely off the mark. Oilers are not trading our top prospect who they have put in all the work to develop him the last few years for a rental middle 6 guy. Like the Oilers do not even consider Broberg 1for1 for Rust, so the fact that you are adding picks from the Oilers just shows clearly there is a misunderstanding in Broberg.

After Nurse, the Oilers do not have any impact LHDs beyond this year. Im assuming Keith will retire after this year. He hasn't been bad, but with everything that went on Chicago, I'd expect him just to move on. Russell/Koekkoek have not been good players this season. I really like Koekkoek last year, but he has been all over the place this season. I've been sick of Russell the last 3 years, so I hope he's gone for good too.
So pretty much the Oilers need LHD. Samorukov/Broberg are the next in line to be on the team, but will likely need to make an acquisition whether by trade of free agency.
