There is a legitimate argument that Trotz is the problem. The worst players consistently get the most ice time and Trotz is now using Wahlstrom/Dobson as scapegoats because the team isn’t winning.

They’re not alone. I think he’s the most overrated coach in NHL and it’s not even close. And he’s clearly getting worse game by game.

Sometimes I wish we had a reporter with some balls like a Larry Brooks, just to create som friction and dynamic and one single reporter that dares to make one tough question. Credit to Molly Walker who did it against Gerard Gallant re Lafrenière earlier this year. It’s getting absolutely ridicolous, f cowards all of them.

And it’s not just on the Island he’s been doing this **** - his trackrecord speaks for itself, he can’t handle young players. If it was up to him there should be a minimum 25 years old requirement for the league. He uses the young guys in a public way that’s just disgusting. Way to go in destroying Wahlstrom completely. He must feel like he’s doing everything wrong and will just start to play like a Cal Clutterbuck and not dare to do something even remotely close to creative, because if he does a mistake he’s benched and publicly crushed by his coach.

Give me a progressive, modern coach that knows how to utilize his best players strengths. Trotz should coach a depleted underdog with limited talent create a ”we against the world” feeling. That’s where he thrives.

People seem to be so ignorant to what actual talent we have. I mean our forwards are loaded with skill and depth. People seem to believe we are a team made up of Matt Martins and Cal Clutterbucks except for Mathew Barzal. That is exactly what Trotz wants us all to believe, because then he escapes the criticism for not putting these players in positions to succeed. Trotz is a master of defensive structure hands down, but the offense just seem to be worser than ever, it’s not just about the players and the lines imo. It lacks zero creativity and the players seem to grip their sticks harder then ever. They look for the perfect high danger play all the time, when we’re not capable of creating that, we have to be more desperate. We are so damn predictable at the moment, except for Barzal.

I firmly believe that if lane lambert had been making lineup decisions last year the cup wouldve been in NY bc i dont see any way that we lose to montreal. The only reason i dont necessarily want trotz fired is bc then the rest of the coaching staff probably goes as well.
If lambert and greco and korn would stay if barry was fired i would 100% be in favor of that.

Your last paragraph is on point. Barzal , Nelson, Beau , and Wahlstrom all have top line impacts according to most models, yet the narrative is that it’s Barzal and a bunch of scrubs. How many team have two top 20 defenseman in their prime and a top 3 goaltending tandem?

Tbh now that we have great goaltenders who would thrive in any system and two top 20 D, I wouldn’t mind losing Trotz even if the rest of the coaches go as well. Give me an average coach who ices the best lineup and gives the best players the most ice time

One coach I’m pretty intrigued by is Mike Sullivan. I can see a scenario where both he and Pittsburgh feels it’s time to change at the end of this season. I think he could do very well with our roster.

This without giving up major assets. Now we're in a position where we need to trade major assets for Toews and Tarasenko/Eberle and ship out Chára and Bailey lol. It's infuriating to think about.

I really do like sullivan and would be ecstatic if he came here.
