Lol no chance. This is already pretty good for an expiring player.

The Vegas trade is just giving Greenway away for nothing. I've soured on a lot on Patrick and Janmark isn't as good as Greenway.

I meant as the main piece, Patrick and Janmark don’t really do much for the Wild.

What are you talking about?? Patrick and Janmark do just fine, and Greenway doesn't have the kind of value that he could realistically get Vegas' top prospect back. All things considered that's a very solid return for a player we're looking to move on from.

With both Krebs and Glass gone, Cormier and Patrick are the two remaining best prospects in the Golden Knights prospect pool. Patrick hasn't been great, but he's lost a lot of development time due to his medical issues. But the kid's still a former top 5 pick. He's definitely a upgrade for at least one of our two top six center spots. Either he frees up JEE to play with Kaprizov and Patrick could play with Fiala, or Patrick could replace Gaudreau next to Kappy.

Cormier is still several years away from the NHL, anyway. Right now, I'd rather take back Patrick and roll the dice on the kid and get a solid bottom six player on top of it.

Have you watched Patrick this year at all?

I agree that Greenway won't get a top prospect back, but Patrick is far from a prize, and the fact that he was drafted second overall almost five years ago doesn't mean anything at this point. He's a bottom six center.

I'll admit I haven't, but he's only 23. Which is slightly less then a year younger than Greenway, he's cheaper, under contract until 2023, and has only played 4 games this year. Not because he was scratched, but because he's once again on IR. His primary issue is he can't stay healthy, which is a major concern, but is the type of player we can expect back from a Greenway trade.

It's more or less a trade of reclamation projects for one another, because at this point, that's what Greenway is. We just get the added bonus of getting a solid bottom sixer in Janmark on top of it because Patrick's hurt.

You're the one who said we couldn't move Greenway for Stephenson. Well, this is the only other type of return we're going to get for Greenway. And his value drops by the day.

I'd advocate just trading him for picks. The 30 games you get from Patrick aren't worth much. It's not like he's a good player during those 30 games.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t do a Greenway for Patrick swap. I just don’t know if it really solves the reason you need to move Greenway since he’s not really a no doubt upgrade due to his injury issues. Maybe Cormier is too much and he is farther out, but I don’t think we can stop ramping for the future just yet.

As for Janmark, I don’t see why VGK would want to swap him for Greener, no offense to the big guy.

Greenway is better than Janmark and it's really not even close: goals, assists, points, /60 stats, all favor Greenway since his first full season. You can look at combined or individual seasons and Greenway is better.

Patrick is 1 step away from being waiver fodder. He's nowhere near the same player he was before he got his bell rung. His draft position means nothing at this point. I'd try him out if he was on waivers or it cost like a 5th round pick.
