I know Kreider currently has 11 goals and has a history of really good chemistry with Mika, but as of right now 7 of those goals are on the power play (which is still plenty important), so I don't think that chemistry is incredibly important with the slight 5 on 5 offensive struggles. The Panarin-Strome line has always relied on a little engine on the line to drive and grind the offense (Fast and Blackwell before), and I think Kreider would be really strong here. Kakko really seems to be dragging this line down 5 on 5 and that's the most important part of the change. Kreider has played RW plenty before anyone wants to comment on his off-side stuff, but on this line I think it'd be even less important. His role will be to use his speed to open up the ice for Panarin and Strome, get in front of the net and cause his usual havoc, and grind on the forecheck for possession

Mika gets a new challenge with two young and cold forwards to try to help them out of the slump. Laffy is not getting any help right now playing with Goodrow and Gauthier on a mostly checking line. Laffy also does have some good chemistry with Mika. I think they have to find a way to keep Laffy and Kakko in the top 6, and this is probably the only way. I think it'll be a good all around line with Mika and Kakko's defensive prowess (they both play the PK together on occasion)

Once Chytil is healthy, the third line becomes Goodrow-Chytil-Blais which I think will be a very strong 3rd line, with a strong checking ability. Hopefully Gauthier gives the coaches a reason to stay and he ousts Hunt for the spot on the 4th line.
