Description

Job #1 of the new VP of hockey ops is to restore humanity to this franchise. After that, it's a return to the hockey rebuild.

Chelsea Dagger is over. Kane and Toews didn't do anything wrong (except for some clumsy public statements about Bowman), but it no longer makes sense to build a team around them . . . both because it's time to move on from that era and because building a team around no-longer elite 33-year olds is not a thing.

The trades described here are stand-ins -- there are a dozen teams that could benefit from getting one or two of these players: I'm just trying to approximate the kind of returns that are possible.

A lot of contenders don't have first round picks in 2022, so it might be more likely to see prospects coming back to Chicago in these trades.

You could be very right about that. A lot of trades suggested here with Strome includes players + picks (2nd, 3rd) coming back.

no one reads the summary. I am just trying to guess at the kind of return that might come, looking at it from the Blackhawks' perspective should they return to the rebuild route.
