Hughes was ready to explode this year. I think he was going to get 60+ Over a full season. Kakko not so much

Hughes has a career .46 points per game to Dach’s .40. So which stats are we talking about?

Hughes = 0.46 Points per game
Dach = 0.40 points per game
Kaako = 0.32 points per game

Hughes is the youngest out of the 3 and (I think) has played with the worst linemates compared to the others

With that being said, I think Hughes will be the best out of the bunch but Dach will be close behind. Kraapo...not so much

Yeah. He looked primed for beast mode before the injury. With Dach, though, I'm having a hard time seeing the big picture, I don't see the magic with him. Maybe I just need to adjust my eyes.

Just re: Kakko-I keep looking up his numbers on hockey-ref, and his usage isn't that outrageous...little more in the D-zone than normal, but still...13 shots in 9 games is pretty crazy though.

I wasn’t a big fan of him before the draft much but he can still be a good 2 way 2C. I just didn’t think he had the offence like Zegras or Turcotte

13 shots in 9 games is so low for a winger who’s supposed to be contributing offensively.

Big time. Maybe a confidence issue? Who knows.

The issue: He's bad at hockey

Or the Rangers just ruined him

Sure. But, Dach, before injury, started out last season at .55 ppg. And in all three of their first seasons, the major difference between Hughes and Dach was 3 games. Also, Hughes only played 2 games this season so far. So, a great couple of games to start the season sky rockets his average PPG. He was a 1.5 PPG in only 2 games before injury. And he only won 4 faceoffs in two games.

Regardless, I am not looking for a debate on who is the better player. Just looking at him, I know it is Hughes. I'm more so wondering what Hawks fans and fans around the rest of the league see when they look at/think of Dach. Not that I don't like him, but am I crazy for not seeing the bigger picture with him?

The comp between Dach and Hughes is like thunder and lightning. Yeah, they're both weather events, but their approach to the NHL game is very different. Hughes is a faster, smaller, skill player. From the Hawks comparisons...he could turn into a Patrick Kane TYPE player. Dach is going to be more like a Toews type player, but really away from the Hawks comps he's more of a Getzlaf type. I'm not suggesting one type is better than any other. Use what you momma gave ya to the best of your abilities. It'll be fun to watch them both develop.

Oh no. I totally agree! It's always fun to watch what's going on around the league and see all these kids turning into stars. I just have been having a hard time doing any 22-23 and 23-24 ACGM's for the Hawks that I actually feel good about. I feel like there is going to have to be a lot of pieces coming from trades to bolster this roster in the coming years. And that means really digging into all the players from all the teams around the league and making a lot of half assed predictions on what they will become, or continue to be, and what they will be worth. I know that's part of doing this whole ACGM thing. BUT I JUST WANT TO KNOW ALREADY! THE ANTICIPATION IS KILLING ME! hahahaha

Also, I only compared the 3 of them because of their draft position. I know they are all different players.

I agree. The thing about dach is that you don’t see him being flashy…ever. When he gets older and stronger his game will really shine.

Yeah. That's pretty much what I was thinking too. But then, do the Hawks reach out for a true 1C in the interim and let Toews settle go/retire or settle into a 2C/3C role (which if I'm being honest, even at his age, Toews as a 3C would indicate some pretty impressive depth at center)? Do they continue to rely on Toews at 1C for as long as they can?

I just really want to do some hawks future ACGM's and feel good about them. And have all the other ACGM's go "whoa that guy is the smartest ACGM there ever was. He should probably get a medal or a big pile of cash or something for those ACGM moves." lol

Not sure if you have a chance to watch much of Hughes, so if you do apologies for wasting time with this post ... if not, I think many fans around the league sell him short with regards to his on ice impact, focusing only on points ... Hughes offensive zone entry & defensive zone exit numbers are elite class (typically top 5). He is also a top notch takeaway guy, though his defensive positioning needs work (An area Ruff has called him out on in public). Additionally (with the exception of the 4 periods played this season) his possession numbers are strong, though I imagine this is expected.

I guess the point is ... he does alot more than just generate points. The real concern (for me at least) is if he can stay healthy, as he will continue to be a target of physical play.

Center depth or not. The forwards are lacking depth. Where’s Hossa 2.0 when ya need him.
