I know it's one game but after last night I am liking the Chabot - Thompson pairing. Chabot played with everybody with Zub gone and the Sens rolling 5 D but I thought him and Thompson stood out in a good way when they were on the ice together. Lassi was solid back there, making good decisions. Obviously we're going to have to see more but I thought he played great.
I really want Brannstrom to succeed but he was just kind of meh for me last night and the Boston game wasn't his best. I'd probably swap him and Lassi in your lines. Still give him a chance, he played well down the stretch last year, he just needs to regain his confidence.
As much as I love the idea of Giroux on the Sens, I'm not holding my breath. I would think if he does leave Philly it will be to chase a cup and I don't think the Sens are there just yet. I do agree though, we need a veteran presence up front to calm guys down when things go sideways.
I love giving Paul 4 years, I think he deserves it.
