Johansen is playing well, and the Preds aren't hurting for cap space. Getting NSH to give up good assets to dump him is about as likely as them giving MTL a haul for Weber.

Not saying Toffoli isn't worth a 1st, but not from the Oilers. On the absolute bottom of our list of needs is a middle 6 winger. If they move a 1st rounder, its for a atop 4 LHD or a starting goalie.

Similar argument for the Allen deal. Given the number of 2nd/3rd round picks Holland has flushed the last few seasons, I don't want to see him move more valuable picks without addressing a need. Allen is a good backup goalie, which we don't need. Neither of these deals address Oilers needs

I know it's not a need, but Toffoli for 2.5 years at $2.2M is worth a 1st for me. I'd do it and use other assets to address the 3LD and 3C needs (starting goalie is NOT a need this year) - both of which might be filled internally anyhow.

It would be absolutely crazy to walk away from Toffoli at 2.5 years for $2.2mil when all it costs is a late first and a B prospect.

Other than the one blooper reel goal, Skinner's play against Detroit was really encouraging. It'll be interesting to see him get a few more games.
