None of the first 3 are available unless you offer a very good prospect or a top player for futures

I would assume MB isn't interested in trading Drouin but for me a 2nd likely gets it done.

Ducks-fan here...Can't see Comtois being moved unless it's in a package for a major upgrade. His timeline fits with the teams current rebuild. When it comes to his production being down this year, it's fairly easy to see why-He's only starting 42% of his 5 on 5 shifts in the offensive zone. For some reason, it seems like Eakins is trying to turn him into something that he's not. Maybe it's a development thing, trying to turn him into a bonified 2 way banger. Who knows.

Also, trading a player that young, in division, just seems like a boneheaded move.

        A stab at the rest:
-Brannstrom: I know that DJ Smith doesn't seem to want him in the lineup right now, which is weird to me, but it also might be an attempt to build a bit of value for the veterans they have there. I'd assume that it'd take an equal value prospect or something along those lines to make it happen.
-Kravtsov: His value varies a lot around here. I'd bet it's a Lias-type return, but who knows. A 2nd and an ok prospect might work, though I doubt the Rangers would take another bogey on a high draft pick this quickly.
-Drouin: He's alright offensively right now, but I'm not sure how you fit him in cap-wise. You'd almost need to send equal cap back, which would be awfully difficult considering Montreal would likely want compensation for downgrading. If it were just picks? I'd guess something like a 2nd+so/so prospect or 3rd?.
-Engvall: Get him for free when he inevitably ends up on waivers. I'm sure the Leafs would be content with a late round pick to take the contract off the books though.
-Dermott: He's always a hard one. I personally wouldn't be going wild to get him, but maybe a 2nd? I really, really think that, unless the Leafs are getting an upgrade on the point, that there's a near zero chance that they're actually currently shopping dmen though. After their current 7, there's relatively zero depth.
-Vesalainen: Probably a similar asking price as Kravtsov.

1- Why are most of your fanbase treating Comtois like he's Eichel? Guy had one good season and everyone thinks he's worth 3 first round picks, from my point of view he could be a one and done kind of guy at this point of his career.
2- Value's right but Drouin just leaves if we're in firesale mode and it's likely that Vancouver will needs to ship loads of money back the other way so the price would be substantially higher considering the cap dumps. I'm guessing Habs would have lots of interest for Woo as RD is our weakness (Prospect wise), Woo + 2023 2nd + Cap money could be a starting point I guess for Drouin and then we go from there?

I'd say Senators would look into doing a package deal for Boeser,
Makes a lot of sense for Sens, they need a young top 6 Right Shot RW that can play with Stuztle potentially long term.

Does Branstrom and a 2nd get you their Caucks fans, or does it have to include a vet player as well?

I'll echo my esteemed colleague @Lenny7's comment and say that I don't see Anaheim trading Max Comtois, especially within the division, and if we did, the only exchange that makes sense is for a first-class defenseman to replace one of UFAs Lindholm or Manson, and the only guy on your roster that fits that description is Quinn Hughes, and I just can't see the Canucks doing that. Especially now that the suspicion that he may not be the next Nikolaj Ehlers has arisen.

I thought that Jake Evans was the only Montreal skater that looked good throughout yesterday's game. (Jake Allen looked real good, too.) And Ben Chiarot didn't look like the bum that a large part of the Montreal fanbase accuses him of being.

I’ll just answer the first question…

Sure, we absolutely value Comtois highly. Why? Because we’re in the middle of a rebuild. In the middle of a rebuild, you don’t trade you best young players away.

I thought I was pretty fair in my assessment of what it would take to move him though…you’re not trading him away for picks. The only way you move him is in a package for a major upgrade.

Oh no it was just a question, your assessment was good but I just wanted a different point of view from a fan. Not only in trades but just in general talks most of you guys talk of him like he's way better than he actually is. He's fine, I like him but ...

-I was on Evans bandwagon since he was named captain with Notre-Dame and nothing he does surprises me. He's taking giant steps every year and since we were hearing rumours about Danault not being re-signed in Montreal I was convinced that the play of Evans was a reason why. In their minds our centers would be Suzuki-KK-Evans and then someone like Perreault, the offersheet derailed the train and then we reacted but Evans was still going to get top 9 minutes anyways.
-Jake Allen will save 3 highlight reel goals and then let a bad one in, he's great but inconsistent.
-Chiarot plays good and I don't understand the hate on him on CF when being in trades cause he for sure can fetch a 1st rounder. A contender looking for security, a team with a great top 3 but iffy depth would be all over this guy with 50% retention to complete their top 4. He now looks 'meh' because he's basically our D2 which isn't his place in a lineup, sure guys here don't care about this but I'm sure GMs are very aware of that.

I think he’s a solid upside winger, which is what we’ll need long term. Gimme my Comtois-Zegras-Rakell line when Rakell is healthy, and I think we’ll see the production come.

That being said, I’m hoping that we replace Eakins after this season. A surprise start for sure, but absolutely questionable usage for a lot of the young guys.
