2 issues NY will soon have cap issues so keeping both players beyond this year is hard, and Eichel won’t affect this years cap much as he won’t return until the last few weeks of the regular season and both those players will be valuable for the playoffs.
but it’s a smart idea to weponize cap space against a team in trouble!

I think it would depend on when Eichel comes back. Their cap situation isnt very clear until theres a timeline for him. If hes out until the playoffs then they will just do what Tampa did

hajek is terrible. gauthier they might have use for but hajek just is not an nhl player
