Acquire girard at tdl 21 sign lindholm off-season

Créé par: contextkobe
Équipe: 2022-23 Red Wings de Detroit
Date de création initiale: 9 nov. 2021

Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
-Acquire girard in February ‘22. Not sure what the cost would be but I think the wings are the most in need/qualified for him as a young top 4 d-man. Wings have all the assets Colorado is looking for in that deal.
-sign lindholm big bucks for short term. Wings benefit: too-line LHD in his prime to pair up with Seider and top off the top 4+guide promising upcoming swedish defensemen edvinsson, Johansson, lindstrom. His benefit: make more annually with a short contract and can get another big one from another team when he hits the market again, and the cap increases.
-let the young LHD compete for their minutes/oesterle is serviceable. Top 2 LHD will load tons of minutes anyway.
-this becomes a better-than-average D unit.

-top line is absolutely shredding
-center depth hinges on Veleno’s development
-maybe bring back namestnikov if berggren’s development isn’t quite there.

Knowing that Avs is contending, what's the point of moving Girard to surplus prospects?

The offer is far from enough and even if Avs were considering moving Girard they'd want someone who could help their current run.

Not even close.

Think Zadina, or something like Hronek ++.

Girard will cost a bundle, thats not a good offer. Lindholm ismt going to sign a 1 year deal. He'll get a long term deal from somewhere.

Hronek ++? I don't think so. Hronek has averaged more ppg while playing against the other teams best every night. And on a much worse team! Girard has also been protected WAY more throughout his career. Also, as a bonus he's 2 inches shorter and that's being generous. Yzerman doesn't like small defenseman anyway so this is all irrelevant.

That's not even close to enough for Colorado to even start the conversation. They decline easily.

As others said, Lindholm will be looking for term as well.

This makes no sense - why are the Avs selling at the deadline?

girds not available for future parts, hes not available at all

If you want him you have to offer something of value that helps the avs contend now, not this. Not even close

explain how Girard has ben protected throughout his career? Explain this post. Unless you have actual analytical evidence to prove this, you are blowing hot air

Yea, I don't see any scenario that a Girard to Detroit trade makes sense in season. MAYBE in the off-season, but even then, some stars would need to PERFECTLY align, for it to happen. I can't see Detroit giving up what Girard would cost and Colorado would be insane to take below market value for him, as I'm sure they can get several teams into a bidding war. Hell, Montreal alone would probably give up their next 7 1st round picks for him with the way their defense looks right now...

The only player that on paper makes sense for the avs would be bertuzzi extended. But even then he’s family has a bad history in Denver

There is a world that girard could be moved hb the summer but it’s for a young top 6 fwd that has cost certainty with a long term contact, that is girards biggest draw he’s good while being locked into a god contact

Unless avs are getting that back in a fwd, I don’t any logic in these girard proposals

I think that you're definitely on track with what this team needs. A 1LD and a 1C/2C and this team will be very competitive. If we see Veleno full time next year (he has been impressive so far this year) and if Berggren is ready and he makes it into the lineup I would rather see Namestikov on the team in the bottom six rather than G Smith. Smith hasn't impressed at all this year.

Seriously? It would take you 2 seconds to look up his zone starts compared to Hronek. Do it yourself or STFU.

I'm guessing this is in response to him being in trade rumors.

Which is why I didn't argue with the other poster about Zadina...
