Gibson over the past few years hasn’t played up to a standard could even dream to ask for a prospect or young player like broberg Bouchard or Holloway. Two of them are off limits in just about every situation. Broberg could be had but not in a goalie trade just doesn’t make sense.

We've made it clear that we're not trading Ryan Getzlaf unless (1) the trade will help the team, and (2) he's okay with going to whoever is asking for him. So saying "team doesn't matter just a buyer in need of a center" misapprehends the conditions under which we'd move him.

As you can see from the comments you've received, proffering any Gibson-to-Edmonton trade is pointless because you'll always get replies from the Oiler diehards who think one year of Koskinen is equal to or even better than six years of Gibson. But there's a reason why last week, in response to a question about him, Bob Murray shrugged off the subject by gratuitously delivering himself of the comment that "other GMs are always calling about Gibby."
