What’s with Dahlin? Is he not fitting in well?

Kind of but we have way too many LD that are young. Ryan Johnson is also looking ready for next year maybe. Kinda feels the same as when Nashville dealt seth jones. Talent is there but too many at the position. but dahlin has looked to need a fresh start

The only trade Buffalo should consider for Dahlin is if they get Byfield in return but I wouldn’t do that if I’m LA. So the next best thing would be Turcotte + Clarke

Florida doesn't need another top pairing defenseman (all this does is mean Weegar's minutes get cut) and they won't be finding a better goalie than Spencer Knight at his price point for the next few years, and they'd be betting on Bob not turning into a pumpkin next year (I wouldn't bet on that! Don't bet on expensive goalies!). Florida would also need to be sending cap back to Buffalo. And they're winning, so why would they take somebody off this roster right now.

This is bad for Buffalo too, because Dahlin's value isn't high at the moment, because he hasn't been scoring. His contract is also the same as Tkachuk's, in that it pretty much allows him to QO his last year and walk to free agency. Buffalo needs to just hold on and hope he develops under Granato

Both LD. If dahlin is a RD I wouldnt even consider moving. But sabres have wayyyy to many LD and they are all becoming ready at the same time

Dahlin's fine, he's just been down on himself after those mistakes--after he's spoken all summer about wanting to be more of a leader, according to Granato he's putting too much pressure on himself. He just needs to relax and play his game. And with Jokiharju being out, it's becoming all too clear how he needs a more defensive-minded partner to play with, as Butcher has not been good next to him.

I respect that opinion. I dont hate having power and dahlin as your 1 and 2. Just with the amount of LD buff has coming up its tough. And i figured FLA is tied up to bob so maybe it would work

I think if you actually read my comments this is much more about what we need vs what we have. Sabres are loaded at LD not so much at goalie. Power, samuelsson, bryson, johnson etc all are LD looking ready to go sooner than later. I dont mind dahlin, but its a business and this is a business related trade

We're weak at goalie for the next 2 years, because those guys need to develop--that's not a good reason to trade out a bonafide top-pair offensive dman. The cost on Knight is so ridiculously inflated it's not worth shipping Dahlin for.
