Yeah, none of this is happening. And why is everyone so eager to help that team anyway?

Switch Teows and Eichel IMO, might as well have the best possible first line if you are going to have this much depth...

One of Patches or Daddy would need to go, but your center depth would still have gone from practically worst to arguably 1st.

With this much depth...maybe Toews Stone plays against McDavid Drai. Then swaps around against another team. Either way it's fun to think about.

Yup. So do the Blues and any of their fans who pay attention. And so do lots of other teams and their fans. It's not a rarity, just FYI.

Regardless, my first point holds.

I see an owner and GM that might each be willing to sell their 1st born for the Stanley Cup. They're very aggressive in the trade market and Vegas STILL has good prospect depth. I see an opportunity for Vegas to be potential cup favorites depending on what happens with Eichel. The playoff roster for Vegas would be insane.

Pacioretty - Eichel - Marchessault
Dadonov - Toews - Stone
Janmark - Karlsson - Patrick
Carrier - Howden - Kolesar

Martinez - Pietrangelo
Theodore - Whitecloud
McNabb - Hague

Lehner.

I don't know who beats that team.

First of all, their prospect pool is among the worst in the league. That's not even me talking, that a consensus among prospect rating types.

As for their roster, they have a major cap problem directly on the horizon. They can't just magically have Eichel ready for the playoffs (unless the league allows them to, which honestly, is entirely possible). If things play out on the up and up, they're going to have to pay to make trades to solve this situation. And if any team lets them off the hook easy, I'm going to be livid.

They were 15th-19th before the Eichel trade. Obviously losing Krebs hurts that ranking. Brisson, Dean, Chayka, Morosov are quality prospects. As for the cap issues. It's a factor for real. When you say "let's them off the hook easy" I think other teams might need picks/prospects. So while I can 100% understand how a competitor that might have to face Vegas in the playoffs would hate to see an Eichel/Toews centered team...The Hawks need to look at making their rebuild faster.

Morosov and a 1st would be HUGE in helping the Hawks. The Hawks (and Blues) farm systems are worse than Vegas's farm team.

Ha! Both the Blues and the Hawks have better prospect pools than Vegas. Again, this is a consensus among prospect experts. Morozov (who've seen play in person multiple times), Dean and Chayka are decent prospects, but also all only have middle of the line-up ceilings. Brisson is a slightly better prospect, but his skating is subpar, especially for a little guy. They have no prospects up to the level of Reichel and Mitchell and Perunovich and Neighbors and Hofer.

Like I said, Vegas has one of the absolute worst prospect polls in the league. This is no secret.

A.) Where do you live where you can go see Ivan Morosov play in person multiple times?

I'm not really sure where you're getting your information from but a number of links below. None of which have Vegas behind either St. Louis or the Hawks. NOW, if you creating your own internal rankings as the season goes along...OK. For example - Perunovich is CRUSHING it in the AHL and that wasn't part of any of the rankings below because he hadn't done that before, combined with Krebs being traded...ok I hear ya.

A) St. Petersburg. Not full time, but much of the year. Been able to see lots of SKA.

And yes, those are all out of date (plus, nobody should ever include Bleacher Report or The Hockey Writers as expert rankings). Subtract Krebs from Vegas, factor in the slippage of guys like Elvenes, add guys like Bolduc, and factor in the leaps taken by Perunovich, Reichel, Hofer and a few others.

I agree with everything you said. The one factor that I do appreciate is that IF (big hypothetical IF) these sources do independent analysis of the farm systems and come to somewhat similar conclusions...there is something called wisdom in numbers that apply where I try to admit my own failings and tend to look to see what everyone else is saying about farm systems I may not be super familiar with.

With that said...I also 100% agree that Perunovich would sky rocket up the charts for next year if he's still listed as a prospect next year and this would greatly affect both up and down how STL specifically would look. Same with the every farm system quite frankly.
