I think Kotkaniemi had to be on the table because of his salary and Jarvis is pretty comparable to krebs then it would just be to sort out draft capital but I think Tuch with his Buffalo ties really swung things in favour of Vegas

If i’m Buffalo i take the above offer over Vegas. A clear sign Canes would not do it. The only pause would be Tuch is signed for 5 years with a good contract and no trade protection, they don’t have to convince him to sign or worry about contract negotiations. That is a big deal for Buffalo.

Tuch is way better than KK right now. Also Tuch is on a very good contract for several years, and KK is RFA with 6.1m contract, which means that if Buffalo don't qualify him at 6.1m he would be UFA and just sign elsewhere.

Kk is only 21 and has way more upside than Tuch and cap space is the last of Buffalos worries they are barely gonna be at the cap floor next year. Plus kk will likely be extended for significantly less than his QO that was just so high to poach the player and bury Montreal (looks like it worked you guys are 3-9 getting blown out by average teams)

You have no idea what Eichel will be or his health going forward. They have great chemistry right now, bringing in a dickhead into the locker room could disrupt that. They are deep at center and have good prospects on the way at center as well.
