tbh if we have the space and could add a puckmover type and mcnabb, then mcnabb could play with dobson and that other person could play with mayfield. i think he'd almost certainly be an upgrade over greene and chara but we definitely need a puckmover.

vegas has to move significant money out to fit eichel if he comes back before playoffs (and indications are that he will), so if it's not mcnabb, it's got to be someone. friedman reported that the leafs are looking to trade a d-man, and he thinks it's dermott. not sure if that's true or not but that's where it comes from.

Leafs have just 7 NHL Dmen on their NHL and AHL rosters. As I suggested the Leafs aren't trading one and going to with six NHLers. Even McNabb's 2.5m cap isn't a big trade issue. Vegas has so many players than LTIR, they aren't going to have trouble with the with Eichel's two months on the roster.

when vegas’ LTIR players are all back, they need to clear at least 7mil in cap space. i assume they plan on moving reilly smith. mcnabb makes the most sense to move as a pending UFA they can’t afford to keep, but vegas always seems to find ways of making situations work, so who knows.

Sorry I disagree with the LTIR math. Tuch has been on LTIR all season. Karlsson and Stone two expensive contracts are going on LTIR., Pacioritty is on LTIR Eichel even with successful surgery won't play till end of February or March so that's just two months for cap hit of about 3.5m.

True, but if Eichel comes back for two months, his cap hit 3.5m approx...Patches and Stone being on LTIR decreases the Vegas cap spend on active players.
