that was just Vegas not even caring and trying to shed some cap, and in this trade he is being 50% retained

Well since he was traded for literally nothing coming off a vezina winning season, I would say it's enough.

As a Hawks fan, I'd say it's enough for sure. Goalies don't have a ton of trade value. I just don't know if MAF would want to get traded. He might prefer to retire...IDK

What he did last year us irrelevant when discussing his current play

Considering he’s a goalie who had lost his starting job 3 times in. The last 5 years and 2 out of the last 3 playoffs was benched to watch his team eliminated…it’s not a shocker to see him go back to his inconsistent play once again

Pretty sure you would be the only one to say that accolades from just the past year are irrelevant on here. Your analysis makes it sound like MAF is to blame for everything when its a wholesale team collapse with a buffoon at the helm. If I remember correctly PIT wrongly put their faith in Murray whose no longer with their org and Lehner has had a shaky start to his season so both teams suffered the negative effects from the loss of MAF who would be a great starter on a team with a real coach and system.

It’s not analysis. It’s actual events that happened, that is just the facts around fluery time in Vegas, why did you think they got lehner in the first place, they questioned mafs ability

And that came true not once but twice in Vegas with fluery

Funny, Lehner has lost his starting job more times in 5 years than Fleury and seems to be having a tough start alone right now. Pretty sure Marc Andre already proved his ability with his overall play in the playoffs 2.03 GAA .918% SAV in 16 games sounds pretty good to me, better than Lehner last year. MAF on an abysmal team so of course his play will take a hit, so not sure why you think a good team wouldnt want him. People are making trades for him on here so clearly he has value.

I have, you said awards like the Vezina mean nothing less than a year removed from receiving them, you said losing your job is indicative of a bad goaltender while Fleury lost his job twice whereas Lehner has lost his job 4 times in the same amount of time, you said MAF sat for 2 of the playoffs when he basically only sat for 1, and that was 2 years ago while the most recent year he played 16 games to Lehners 3 all while having a better GAA and SV% than him. I guess winning the Vezina last year means nothing but his play 2 years ago means everything? Each statement you've brought up said is just plain wrong or moot.

I didn’t say that, I said him being a veizna winner last tear is irrelevant when discussing his current play this year .

And where did I say bad goaltending? I said inconsistent.

You are looking for things that are just not there bc you want to fan boy bicker about him.

If a guy wins the Vezina ANY year it obviously has a positive factor in his value, no matter how small, even when hes on a terrible second to last team. You think teams wouldnt factor that in when evaluating him?
No bickering, you're just making uncharacteristically peculiar points. You're one of the voices for the AVs that holds weight, so its just weird to see you bagging on MAF.

Who is bagging him, i have not once said anything negative saying he sucks. Hes bad, he’s worthless etc . I have an accurate summary of his career the past 4-5 years and the point that the past is irrelevant when talking about his current play. You bring up Lehners career....that is not the conversation, projecting onto another player and what they have done has nothing to do with MAF and his current play and his career the past few years. This is about MAF, not other goalies. And you bring up the point about trophies adding value despite how long ago they were....Did Taylor Hall winning the Hart spike his value in trades the following year? No teams paid what he was worth at that time, not what he was worth back then. If that was true why was MAF given away for free this summer, the previous summer they tried to give a 2nd round pick with him at 50% and no one wanted him. The value of fluery doesnt spike now bc he won the veizna and is on the hawks, his value is set. Hes a 37 year old goalie, teams are not in a rush to make that a priority 1 trade for them

You keep on making this statements of what I assume or think to ty to justify your out rage about MAF, always attacking me trying to make stance fit you narrative so you can bicker about it, you can’t project anything onto my words that are simply not there. I made a simple point, that’s it
