Propose some reasonable trades and Detroit fans won't lambaste your delusional fanbase's valuations.

You guys think absolutely every trade is unreasonable and it's hard to negotiate with brick walls. Wouldn't be calling other fanbases delusional either, by the way. Glass houses.

The vast majority of Toronto ACGM's do not take into account other team's needs, positions, or model, AT ALL. That's why it leads to this. You overvalue your own resources and undervalue others and don't take into account that some players just aren't fits and then value doesn't matter anyways.

Marner value is somewhat like Eichel's, the trade value is low, if no cap is returning the Leafs, (or Sabres), In this case, the rebuilding Wings prefer to keep Raymond and those three picks plus 9.5m in cap space to sign a top UFA.

The mast majority of ACGM's in general do this. People are going to be more familiar with their own teams players and prospects. It's just a natural thing. Toronto fans are the most numerous so they're obviously going to be creating the most ACGMs.

But Red Wings fans on here get way too worked up over ACGM trades, like it's life and death that they have to defend the honour of Yzerman over LeafsKid3039 because he though Bertuzzi was worth a first and Kerfoot. Maybe calm down a bit and realize these trades aren't real and probably won't happen?

I like marner as a player a bunch but the wings cant give up that much. Maybe if he was a #1 center you could argue it but its too much.

Toronto isn't trading Marner because he isn't the problem, at least not by himself.

Even with out the picks I doubt Detroit does this.

I'm not saying Raymond is better than Marner or he will even be better than Marner. But there isn't a GM in the league that would trade a player that has 8 points in his first 7 games in the NHL.

laugh laugh Picks are going to the wrong team, 7 years of Raymond has far more value then 4 years of Marner even with retention. Raymond is the future Marner. So Detroit says hell no.

You guys think absolutely every trade is unreasonable and it's hard to negotiate with brick walls. Wouldn't be calling other fanbases delusional either, by the way. Glass houses.

I’ll honestly say that I’ve seen a lot of quick rejections by fellow Wings fans (sorry), but it doesn’t help when the trades are
A) For spare parts that don’t make a decent impact on the roster
B) Trades involving players like Larkin, Raymond, Bert, etc

A quick guide on dos/don’ts in a Red Wings trade (at least in my eyes):
1. We want futures. While involving a solid veteran player in a trade helps the value, after a certain age it’s much harder to get down with the idea of trading for them. My age cutoff would be 27 or 28, but it’s different for everybody. Remember that we’re still in a rebuild, and our one big veteran pickup for this year has already happened (Leddy).
2. We like having good young players, please don’t trade for them and give us worse players in return. The aim for us in a trade involving one of our higher quality players would be to get an upgrade, a fairly lateral move in skill to a younger player (EX: Mantha deal), or to get two good players in exchange for giving up one that’s a little better than both.
3. Picks are good. We like draft picks. Don’t trade for our first rounder though.
4. We don’t want your spare parts. Sure, Dermott is a fine player and Engvall is a decent bottom sixer, but we don’t want to give up assets for them when our roster isn’t significantly affected by acquiring them.

Also, because I’m assuming you want some feedback on this Raymond-Marner trade, here’s my take. Raymond is looking to become the kind of offensive driver Marner is right now. Maybe he peaks a little lower, but that’s besides the point. Raymond is 5 years younger. Marner is good, but I’d rather have seven years of team control over Raymond than four years of Marner at a nearly $11mil cap hit. So if I see Raymond as having more value than Marner, why would I pony up a first and two seconds to swap the two? It puts the Wings in a worse situation than if they just keep Raymond, the first, and the seconds.

Sorry for the long paragraph, just wanted to get a lot of information across at once. Not directed negatively at any person or team btw, just a guide to maybe help prevent some future disagreements.

1st off, saying all Wings fans think every trade is unreasonable shows that you are no better than that which you criticize.

But for the last two years Wings fans on here have seen trades like Mantha for 2nd and Noah Jullesen or Bertuzzi for Engvall, Dermott and a 3rd. Yes those were real trades on this site proposed by fan of the Habs and Leafs.

This summer, E. Friedman stated Bertuuzi is someone that the Leafs should look into trading for from the Wings. He even said he has no news to say Wings are shopping him, but YOUR fan base was like Wings are shopping him and they will take guys like Dermott, Holl and Engvall, because he is being shopped. Now was there trades that made more sense, yes and I commented on them, saying that may work. But alot were just bad., and some where just comical.

Now would Yzerman make this trade. Probably not, BECAUSE 3 reasons.
1. Marner will be a UFA in 4 years at 11 million, whereas Raymond is cost controlled for 7 years. I think Yzerman may have learned some lessons while GM at TB.
2. I can no see Yzerman trading any 1st for at least 4 years as he is trying to restock a very depleted farm system.
3. Yzerman has preached from day one patience. This trade does not scream patience, but rather more impatience.
4. Marner has not been the same since late last year. Something is wrong, not sure what but he has not been the same player.

Now, there is now way I could see Pitrsburgh trading Kap and Habs are not trading picks for Kerfoot, who has looked bad this year.
