Honestly, I'd do it. Gives them a Rielly replacement if he doesn't resign (Brodie can play left d). And gives them a replament for Marner in the top 6 or as 3c if that how they want to set up the lines. Carolina would have to consider this due to Marner's talent. It's just that they might want to hold onto KK after just OSing him. But defiantly a solid mock trade. Salary even works.

KK can't be traded until August, but this is 100% a funny trade. I don't understand why Carolina would do it though, with Necas, Aho, Teravainen all needing new deals in the near future, and Slavin not too far up the road either

Canes can trade Kotkaniemi at any time they wish, provided they wanted to and had a trading partner. That restriction only applies to the team that matches the offer sheet.

To this offer, no way the Canes deal Pesce for Marner, regardless the additional loss of Kotkaniemi. The Canes have no need for Marner; by trading Pesce, they open a huge hole in their lineup.

Good trade for Toronto, but Canes don’t even consider that. Pesce rarely ever gets deked out, whereas Marner… well, just roll the clip of Slavin. Canes just got KK, we aren’t trading him. Canes don’t need RW right now. They have a bigger need at LW and RD, which TOR doesn’t have anything interesting enough to entice CAR to even consider trading Pesce, let alone KK. Canes defiant want more offense, but it won’t be at the cost of crippling our dcore. Canes won’t downgrade their system, which Marner does not fit it, to help Toronto.
