Move on but never forget

Description
It’s time for a new era all around. Front office and on the ice. The hawks owe the the entire sport a debt which cannot be paid. Ergo, they must move on but never forget about accountability. They must do better not just as an organization but as people in general. Also, pain for Shane is still in place.

I agree the Hawks need to move on from Toews and Kane for the sake of the team, the sake of those two careers, and just pure optics. It's unfortunate since they were only 21 years old at the time, but the time is now to move them if they are going to move them. Start fresh across the board...call it collateral damage I guess not that they should have any accountability.

I know it sucks to hear as a Hawks fan, but they better not get Shane Wright after this. Even if they win the lottery fair and square, it's and awful look for the league. I hope they finish last, lose the lottery so Columbus gets pick 3.

Toews was still the captain of the team.

We're drafting guys like Brandon Coe and Jasper Weatherby in the 4th round so that's an easy no from SJ.

Thing that sucks about it is that in the past when I teased this idea, it was mainly anger with results. This time, it’s purely to rid the organization of anything related to 2010! I’m not saying toews or Kane are bad people or enabled anything, but I certainly believe they probably knew about the incident.

Considering that’s a statement without rational, that’s not exactly worth much.

Gaudette could really go anywhere, not SJ.

I don't necessarily agree with whether they knew given they were only 21 and hardly one of the 'good ole boys' yet. Even if it was mentioned in the locker room, so much BS is spread in locker rooms, bullying, hazing, etc. generally the youngest players aren't ring leaders and don't know what is or isn't true. Often times players, especially young ones, tune out. Again, hard to say what is accurate at this point factually and what isn't other then Quenneville, Bowman and others factually knew and did wrong 1000% and should be held accountable.

The Wirtz family needs to sell the team. Bettman needs to reach out to Adam Silver and how they approached Don Sterling situation with the Clippers. EVERYONE in power needs to go. Q fired. Chevy fired. Marc Bergevin who people aren't talking about...why is MTL not willing to extend him? MB also drafted Mailloux... Everyone from that organization needs to be sent to into retirement from the NHL. I'm sure there are exceptions to every rule, but I can't think of those exceptions right now.

In a way, though, given they were the youngest team in the league at the time and toews was even the captain, I do they were firmly in the “good ole’ boys” category. 😔

Really hard to say. Certainly there were much older vets leading the team at the time if you remember the 09/10 team. They were still babies comparably and there were much louder voices in the locker room then them. That said, here's the full report if you haven't read it....people were named but Toews and Kane were not.You can draw your own conclusions but ultimately what is clear, just like in any company and much much bigger ones, senior management and HR were made aware and as in big companies it is their responsibility to deal with it appropriate not employees other then to report it. Utter failure by all levels of management and coaching staff along with the head of HR who was aware.

I get strome a little bit, but I really wanna keep kuba if we can. His age does make sense though.

If we're entering a full scale rebuild it just makes sense to move him and get another first back. We're probably losing our 2022 pick, but I wouldn't mind loading up on 2023 picks in the Bedard/Michkov draft
