I'm trying to be as realistic and conservative as possible. Obviously, as a Ducks guy, I'd like to get more, but since we've all thought that Murray's asking price for both of these UFAs is a first plus, and no deal has happened, I'm not optimistic that that's what we're going to get. Of course, I agree with your and Salzy's previous expressions that it's better to keep Josh Manson around to give Jamie Drysdale some protection while he develops (at least for this year), but at some point, we're going to have to pull that particular trigger if we can't (or don't want to) re-sign him.
Ah, I didn't look at who the OP was!
I guess with Manson, my thoughts were that he wasn't healthy last year, so teams likely didn't want to gamble at that point. I don't think the return is bad, per se, but I'd be surprised if Toronto preferred moving Lilly over their 1st rounder. They've spent a lot of time developing him...
As for Niemela, it's sort of the same thought in my head-they've got a 19 year old performing at a solid rate offensively (albeit in Finland), so they might be anti-prospect moving at this point.
