Wilson's hand could get forced in a effort to keep Vegas from getting Eichel. Honestly if Eichel ends up in SJ I think it would mostly be to keep him out of LA/ Vegas/ Anaheim.

Couldn’t care less if Vegas gets him. Not worth giving up our good young prospects just so Vegas doesn’t get him.

why would that matter, by the time SJ is a true competing team again, Vegas won't be.

Well we are 4-1 and in the top 5 of the league in many statistical categories but that has nothing to do with the fact that Eichel lacks NMC or NTC (until next year) and has zero choice in where he lands.
