Why would they want Kerfoot?

Well first of all, Nashville isn't giving up any players who look like they are in the team's long-term plans. Both Cousins and Grimaldi are upcoming UFA's, so they would just be rentals for Toronto who could bring some grit and sandpaper to Toronto's bottom six, not to mention Toronto could use the cap space lol. I don't need to tell you about all the trade rumors that Kerfoot has been in for a while now. As for Nashville's roster, their forward group is kind of all over the place. The only consistent part of their forwards is the top line with Johansen centering Forsberg and Duchene, while the rest of the lineup is treated with a lot of flexibility. It seems that the types of forwards that struggle in Nashville are the one's who play a purely skilled game, where as two-way forwards, and forwards who play with physicality and/or sandpaper seem to thrive relatively well. It seems like you need to play a strong game away from the puck as well as with the puck in order to thrive in Nashville

I'd be happy to trade Cousins and Grimaldi at the deadline, but picks would be the preferable return. No interest in taking Kerfoot.

Fair enough, you might have some luck there if Nashville isn't poised to make the playoffs
