That's great for the Pens, but I think CHI can do much better.

???? They would rather see how 74th overall pick who got 16 goals last year in the Q turns out compared to the 3rd overall pick who got 51 points in 58 games a couple years ago. There is a maybe 10% chance Legare ever becomes the player Strome is right now.

Chicago declines, not enough for Strome.

Cherry picking stats is just ridiculous and is a terrible argument.
Taking Legare’s stats from last year but Strome’s from 2 years ago? Dumb and asinine.
Leaving out the fact that Legare only played 33 games last year and had 38 points total? Dumb and asinine.
Using points for Strome but only goals for Legare as the stat to compare? Dumb and asinine.
If you’re gonna use Strome’s stats from 2 years ago, then use Legare’s stats from 2 years ago too. You won’t because Legare’s stats are amazing from 2 years ago.
Yes the organization would rather have Legare and see how he turns out considering they were extremely impressed with him this year, even more so than last year. He will be much more needed as a right shot RW long term than a left handed center/LW. And the pens would much rather take advantage of a much lower cap hit at a need than pay a guy 3 million minimum who isn’t even cracking the Hawks lineup. There is only a like 5% chance Strome puts up the numbers he did from 2-3 years ago since we are randomly making stuff up. 🤷‍♂️

Legare is garbage. He's on a 3rd line in WBS.

Agreed. Pens would take this and RUN. CHI would never make this trade.

No, the organization would not rather wait on Legare. While Hextall has said it would take a major deal to move any prospect, this would qualify. A 24yr old middle-six forward who plays both wing and center for a mediocre prospect who's not even playing on the first line in WBS? Please.

Trololol. And Dylan Strome isn’t playing at all even though he is healthy. If Hextall wanted to move Legare, he’d have done it already. Your takes are usually embarrassingly wrong so I’m not surprised lol

Yup, Strome isn't playing and CHI is stinking it up. That team isn't exactly getting the best decision making from their coach.

And why would you assume he would have moved Legare already? How do you know other teams made good offers? Did you speak to Hextall?

What's so wrong? Legare was mediocre in his last year in the Q. At his age he should have dominated and now he's playing the THIRD line in WBS. He's not even on the first or second line. That should tell you something.

Lol.

16 goals and 38 points in a 33 game shortened season.

Took his team to the Q championship series(14 goals, 18 points in 15 play-off games). Career in the Q, Legare had 106 goals and 226 points in 224 regular season games.

Strome is closer to a bust(especially for a 3rd overall pick) than a legit NHL top 6.

If It was up to me, I’d keep Rikkola, Legare and the 4th. Especially with Stromes contract, the fact he has arbitration rights and he becomes an UFA after next season(if not signed long-term).

Legare still on his rookie deal, physical NHL ready, will most likely crack the NHL roster next year, if not get some NHL experience this season.

I don’t think Legare, Rikkola and maybe a 5th or a 6th round pick is crazy value for Strome. Teams/GMs love players with pedigree. I’m sure some team would be willing to give up a “B”, “B+” prospect, a bottom pairing D-man/good NHL depth 7-8th D-man, and a mid-round pick for Strome. But if the Pens made that trade, me and probably a lot of other fans wouldn’t be happy about it.

So Chicago not playing Strome at all is bad coaching decisions, but Legare playing 3rd line on a good WBS team is because Legare is mediocre? Ok clearly you’re just a bad troll. ERod is playing above Blueger right now, I really hope you don’t believe ERod is better than Blueger lol. Nor do I think anyone in the pens organization believes ERod is better than Blueger. When Kessel was here he played a good bit on the 3rd line behind guys like Rust, Sheary, etc. No one in their right mind would believe at that time those players were better than Kessel. Coaches play players on certain lines based on chemistry more than performance. Hence why Sully always put Simon with Crosby and I’m sure will once Crosby comes back. And the fact that you think Legare was mediocre in a covid shortened season where he was over a PPG and led his team to the championship series. He’s improved the aspects of his game that were weak when he was drafted.
Strome had 1 good season and has trended down ever since. And now he is a healthy scratch on a bad team. Regardless of whether that’s bad decisions, because he has trended down the past two years, or both, it still lowers his value big time.
Have you talked to anyone in the Hawks organization on why Strome is a healthy scratch? You said the Hawks could get better value…how do you know? Again have you talked to anyone in the Hawks organization?

This is a very scattered response that never touches the point of what we're talking about and you're trying to make connections that are total stretches. One day you'll understand hockey better, hopefully.

I understand hockey just fine. It’s you that will hopefully understand hockey at all once day. But I’d just find another sport if I were you. Totally expected response. Get proven wrong and don’t come back with anything of substance. Not that you ever do anyway 🤷‍♂️
