Description

Stop with these stupid marner trades. (and putting him on waivers????)

He's a top 10 winger in this league at 24 (top 5 in points among all players last year too, 2nd for all wingers)

He was on pace for 100 points last season

He's one of the best playmakers in the league so it's no surprise that it's harder for him to produce with Matthews out/not playing his best hockey. Marner isn't relied on to score goals

He's not the only reason you can't get out the first round. It's a team game

He's not even that overpaid. Tavares is the contract you should be worrying about if anything

He's not a product of Matthews. Theres a reason Marner gets just as many point as Matthews. (I've seen this argument too many times with Draisaitl and Mcdavid as well. Both Mcdavid and Matthews benefit from Draisaitl and Marner.)

Not to mention he's actually decent defensively.

The leafs are lucky to have him. Stop complaining

ok marner is good but you cant run a team with three players making ten million dollars! trading marner can result in a deeper team and trading him could net you a ton of value back like meier and labanc!!

There's just a 'challenge' going around which is the source of most the trades you're probably referring to. The other stuff is just from people who are trolls and/or idiots.

He is the scapegoat for all the hate until he gets going, gets traded or they win a round it will unfortunately continue

Line 1 = 0 goals 1 assist (Make note Matthews has only been in 3 games this season)

Now what Keefe should focus on is Matthews and Marner as until they get going nothing will change. The passion they know in hockey is gone and as the coach he needs to unlock it again.

Still early in the season though so there's time. Next week gives them a good test as they go up against a strong canes team, a struggling hawks team, and Detroit

People don’t seem to realize that this is the worst slump of Marner’s career.

1 point in 6 games is the worst slump in his entire career.

That won’t continue. He and Matthews will break through, as will the rest of the team, and it will be fine.

Marner is just the scapegoat.
He is a guy who, if not traded, will most likely have his number up in the rafters some day.
But many Leafs fans just need someone to hate and so they choose Marner.

Agreed on every point, especially the Tavares signing. I have nothing against the guy but another 11 million contract was not what the team needed. This team needed the money to keep the Hymans and Connor Browns. They're also 2-3-1, not 0-6 and Matthews didn't have training camp because of an injury..

Maybe we don't need to blow it up and trade Marner. Leafs fans are passionate which means that we overreact. Right now leafs fans are justified because we know how this end. This team will never win with this current make up. Tell me what has changed since they lost to the Bruins in 2011?

Just wish Dubas traded for J. Carter last year instead of Foligno, who cost the Leafs a 1st, and two 4th Rd picks, while Carter was traded for two 3rd Rd picks. I know Dubas wanted a LW'er but J. Carter has been great since the trade and Foligno has been garbage. And with Carter in the lineup the Leafs wouldn't have to make the McCaan trade, which cost them Hallander (former 2nd Rd pick) and a 7th Rd pick.

Marner will still end the season as a point per game player, just now he'll have to score 81 points in 76 games, which he is capable of doing.

The only hiccup in my trade reversal is J. Carter has a NTC, but I can't see him veto a trade to the Leafs.
