I would do the rielly trade but not the marner trade. We have no need/want for marner and certainly not at 10.9m. If he was coming at 7m or less that would be a different story.

Soooo if you kind of messed up the year, if they lose on the first round, alot of those players involved in trades are free agents this year like Reilly and Komarov. But I think they lose this year, they go one more than tear it down.

Agreed, Isles would do the Reilly trade but not the Marner trade. Boychuck doesn’t affect the cap, Leo is off the books after this year, the team lives Clutter and no interest in moving Raty. Marner is a good player but Isles do not need a W and that cap hit.

The market is the single biggest problem for the Leafs. Can they trade their fanbase and media coverage? That would probably be the most effective trade they could make to turn this team around.

These players are still people and when they're being constantly **** on, especially only 6 games in, and barely below .500 and run out of town, it's no surprise that any impact player there starts eyeing the exit.

I get expecting a lot, but the bi-polar "we're the best team in the league, no one can beat us, we're winning the cup" swing to "everyone on this team is garbage, fire everyone and blow it up" swing from game to game is insane.
