I don’t think Ducks should do the Eichel deal.
Caps likely decline Alexeyev deal.

No, the Ducks wouldn't give up their best LW that led them in points last year, Steel, Terry (who is really good but many don't know it because he plays in Anaheim), one of the best goalie prospects in the league, their best defensive prospect (aside from Drysdale) and their 2022 1st (unprotected) that will probably be a Top 10 pick in maybe the best Draft since 2015.

The deal could probably be made much easier, why would Anaheim trade Comtois and Terry if they wanted to get Eichel and try to win in the near future.

Mainly bc the Capitals D has been pretty solid. Alexeyev was viewed to be better than MF and MF has been one of best players so far this year. I imagine Alexeyev would be close to untouchable.

The longer this deal takes the more I feel the deal will look like ROR trade. Like 1st + prospect or 2 and a cap dump

It’s an ongoing thing is Ducks guys have to say for most Eichel trades

From what I understand the wheels are moving because teams are willing to let Eichel get the surgery he wants. The only reason deal has not been made yet is teams will not give Buffalo a reasonable offer. They all want Jack Eichel for spare parts and a draft pick or two, but all with conditions attached. Buffalo should absolutely demand at least something concrete in return for a franchise center. That’s why a trade has not happened yet.
