Description

So I joined a 20 team fantasy hockey league on ESPN with my friends, most of whom know literally nothing about hockey and just autodrafted. ESPN is notorious for its bad rankings, but they really seemed to kick it to a whole new level this year. I had the last pick, and I got Panarin (usually a top 10 pick) at 20, and Makar (usually a top 10 pick as well) at 21. What's more, both Mitch Marner and Brad Marchand were also available when I picked at 20. Braden Point was ranked #16 on NHL.com, but I got him at #60. Same with Ekblad, who was ranked in the 20s on NHL.com. Svechnikov I got at #100, and Quinn Hughes I got at #140. Some of my friends also want to make this a cash league, which I'm all for, since I'm one of maybe 5 people who know anything about hockey, and my team is the best by far.

lol this team would be really good in a 12 team league, by all means make it a cash league and steal their money. My only comments are that aho and mahura are odd picks (not very fantasy relevant and not that high upside) and your goalies could probably use some work if you’re gonna go for the championship (I like sorokin but even he’s a tandem guy, the ducks will fade, and the other two are rookies that are splitting at best with expensive veterans)

Yeah I kinda ran out of time at the end and pretty much randomly selected Aho and Mahura. At least it's better than autodrafting Jaromir Jagr, which another team did. I agree that it's kind of concerning that all my goalies except Gibson, who's on a bad team, are in committees, although I think Knight is pretty clearly better than Bobrovski down in Florida. I think Swayman is a good fantasy goalie even if he splits starts with Ullmark. I mean Tuukka Rask and Jaro Halak have always split starts, and they were still good fantasy goalies.
