This has already been discussed today. Most wild fans Rather keep fiala because of the extra year, and fiala drives wild

i agree. Fiala is also just a better player overall. this doesnt happen unless more is going to the wild

Not sure I agree with the statement but I agree it's not a great trade. Since MIiller has been with the Canucks he has put up 124 points in 127 games. In those same seasons Fiala has put up 97 points in 117 games.

Where I think the deal goes south is the Canucks are getting Fiala as an RFA whereas Miller would be a rental at that point. Also, Fiala is younger which is probable preferable to Min

Fiala is not a better player overall. Miller is better. I guess if you wanted, you could say they are around the same level but the Canucks rather have Miller cause he’s better, more versatile, and there’s no way the Canucks ADD

You are right didnt have time to look up there stats before but most of the advanced stats are a dead heat. ( or slightly favor fiala when it comes to expected shots and expected goals for are the only main gaps between the two) I still prefer Fiala over Miller from watching as I see Miller as a turn over machine.

Also canucks would add in this trade because they are getting a player who is 3 years younger and an RFA which is a big difference in contract negotiations

Miller is also a center while Fiala is a winger. If the Wild acquire Miller with the intention to re-sign him then it's pretty close to fair.

except he really hasn't played center in years.... still giving the edge to Fiala RFA and 3 years younger is still way more important in comparing these 2

He's played center a lot in Vancouver including all of last year. He takes most of the draws when playing with Pettersson.

Fair enough if you prefer Fiala.

Yeah, I agree. If both players were closer in age/UFA status I think it would be even but Fiala being RFA is a huge boost.

Anecdotally, I think Millers next contract is not going to look good for whoever signs it, he is in line for a significant pay raise (>ppg last 3 seasons) but is aging and I don't think will sustain that level of production over a 7 year deal.

Miller spent almost all of last season with a rotating cast of Vesey/Highmore/random waiver plug on his wing.

It took me 15 seconds to verify that you're lying. He has been more or less stapled to Pettersson and Boeser since he arrived in Vancouver.

He missed exactly 53.6% of last season and Miller was predominantly with Boeser and Hoglander during that time.

Miller has played an overwhelming majority of his time in Vancouver with Pettersson and Boeser.
