It’s regular waiver order for ABB, just if Tampa gets to claim him he can be sent straight to AHL. I’d be shocked if no one claimed him before Tampa.

But I really don’t know what Francis is doing. He didn’t utilize pre-expansion draft trades to gain draft picks and players. He put together a mediocre team, and now seems like there’s no real direction. Maybe tank for 2 years and then go for it. That’s what I’d do.

Hopefully they win the first pick. Otherwise this is a ROUGH roster to carry for the next couple years lol

yeah, i don’t know what he was thinking. there were several players he could have taken in the expansion draft and then flipped for picks or just played in his lineup and instead he just took useless players like twarynski and bayreuther. he didn’t build a good team, weaponize his cap space or try to collect as many picks as he could. i get that people weren’t willing to play ball as much as with vegas, but arizona got a LOT for taking on cap dumps, and now they have all the picks and seattle just feels directionless. i’m not sure what their goals are.

No, he doesn't. Literally any of us armchair GMs could've put together a better team than he did.

But I’m looking at the bigger picture with seattle and I don’t see a plan. They’re not a clear contender, but not a bottom feeder.

As someone who watched the Rangers during their .500 days of 2008-2011, I can tell you from experience that that's the worst place to be haha.

Being a jets fan since they’ve came back in 2011 has taught me a lot about being mediocre. It’s not fun, I’d much rather see a team go all in, or tank.

It might still gel into something greater than the sum of its parts like Vegas, but I agree so far the Kraken looks average. If Beniers turns into a superstar and the Fleurys become a top pair, they might have something. Otherwise, at the deadline they could sell off their top line and top pair for picks and prospects and play the lottery.

I don't really expect them to stay ahead of any of those three teams for too long. Especially with two injuries at center, which was already their weakest position.
