Yup…because tarasenko has diminished value.

No, because Dunn is much younger and cheaper with lots of potential for growth, and because Francis almost completely stayed away from pricier vets anyway. Tarasenko was far from the only pricey vet he ignored. Hell, in a few cases, he picked entirely useless players that were never part of the team's plans going forward just to avoid taking salary. Seattle passed on Zadorov to pick the utterly useless Quenneville, who then fluttered off to Europe while Chicago dealt Zadorov for regular value. Trade value and what happens in an expansion draft have no inherent correlation, dude.

Ohhhh zadorov. How i forgot about him. Later traded for a third round pick, right? So we know his value, and we know his value was crap. But seattle did take Giordano, because they aren’t dopes. Where there’s value, they took it. They didn’t think tarasenko had any.

The point is Zadorov's trade value didn't magically drop because Seattle passed on him to take useless garbage, so why would Tarasenko value drop because Seattle passed on him to take a good and good value player? It doesn't.

They didn't take Giordano to instantly flip, they took him to be their captain. And he was among very few pricy vets they took. But hey, feel free to continue comparing apples to meat pies if you wish.

It’s very possible that a player that winds up getting moved for a third just isn’t valued at all by another team. I don’t think it’s possible that one team will value tarasenko at chytil, a first, and a second, and another NHL team will say, “nope, not worth a darn thing.”

Okaaaaay. Not sure how that's relevant to this discussion, but it's not important.

Lol seriously? You don’t see how that’s relevant? Are you one of those that makes up your mind, and then checks out of any and all conversation that might lead you to realize you’re wrong?

What are you on about? No team valued Tarasenko at that. An AGM did. Not at all the same thing. Obviously. But yes, a conversation consisting of an irrelevant hypothetical isn't going to make me think I'm wrong about actual real life matters. I'm just a big silly that way.
