Sabres have 0 need for Schneider, Kravtsov could be had for basically free right now, and as you put it Strome is basically worth a 2nd and 3rd. They end up with 0 players and 3 picks with a varying degree of value but none top 20

1. Not enough to trade within the division
2. your cap for next year is screwed. current cap is 77.4 million, next year cap is 82.5, and you have roughly 9 million coming off cap with UFA and RFA's. you will have 14 million in cap space. roughly 3 million in cap for Zibs new deal leaving 11 million to sign Kappo, Georgiev and Fox, all RFA's. and you still are short. Fox is not signing a bridge deal so let's say he gets 87 million, conservatively. That leaves 3 million for Georgiev and Kappo. that is 3 players and you are short 4 players, and no cap.

As much as I'd hate to trade Lundkvist, I think Buffalo would prefer him over Schneider. As for Krav, he's got no value right now. I think one more piece would be required, and I'm not sure what it'd be. Othmann?

Kravtsov has pretty much the same value as Lias Anderson did with the Rangers. I just don’t think the Rangers have the pieces Buffalo wants in return for Eichel if Lafreniere is definitely off the table. Schneider or Lundqvist would be a step in the right direction, but after Chytil the Rangers are lacking in available young players the Sabres would want. Besides, Buffalo isn’t interested in “me first“ guys, I mean the point of this trade is getting rid of one, so Kravtsov is probably not someone they want.
